First up, a few pictures from an engagement shoot I did for Laura & Anthony. They wanted a few different shots as they both love the 50s, are learning to Lindy Hop and love vintage glamour!

Then, back in July on a very hot and sunny day, I photographed their wedding at Ingestre Hall in Stafford. This was the most perfect wedding - every detail had been thought of from the vintage car to the mis-matched china for the Pimms! Laura & Anthony also run a burlesque night in Lichfield (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) so it couldn't be more fitting for them to host a small burly revue as part of their reception. Acts included Scarlett Daggers and my good friend Missy Malone, as well as Ant's own band, Johnny & the Speedos. It was such a good night that my assistant and I didn't leave until gone midnight! I want to thank Laura & Ant for thinking of me for their wedding - if every wedding could be like this I would die happy *welling up a bit at the mo...!*

Next up, here's a shot from a beauty shoot that I collaborated on with MUA Roseanna Velin. I'd been wanting to work with Roseanna for a while and I'm really happy with the results.

Playing catch-up...

Ok, firstly the promised sneak peek of the photos I took of Imelda May and her band when they played the Gloucester Guildhall. The results of these can be seen in her new album 'Mayhem' on the insert....

As I said before it was an amazing gig and I got some amazing shots from the side of the stage. I think these really show just how much fun all the band have when they play.

A few weeks ago I collaborated with photographer Sarah Powell and makeup artists Kerry Baines and Hayley May Watkiss on a candy themed shoot. We did a couple of looks on each of the models, shooting some sugary bright colours on some and then some edgier fashion styled shots.

Mammoth Catch up - Mua test, Vivien of Holloway, weddings, Imelda May and more!

So, it's been ages since I updated. It seems I've been running around trying desperately to catch up!

Firstly, here's the results of a colaboration with makeup artist Cher Simmons. I'm really interested in doing more art direction shoots, especially with weird and wacky makeup! I love these photos!

Next up is a few shots from a wedding I did on a very hot and sunny day in April for Niki and Mark.

Lastly, I also recently shot with Imelda May and her band for some promo shots. I went over to Gloucester to meet up with them at the Gloucester Guilhall. I got hopelessly lost in Gloucester, my SatNav insisting on trying to take me into pedestrian areas! Luckily I was rescued by a lovely lady who I stopped and asked for directions. She insisted in jumping in my car so she could take me there (you wouldn't get that in Brum!). So a big thank you goes out to her for finally getting me there (unfortunately I can't remember her name, I've a memory like a sieve!).

So, I shot a few pics with the band before Imelda arrived and then with all of them just before the doors opened for their gig that night. I think we managed to get well and truely in the way of one of the bar staff who was throwing a wobbly (and beer kegs!). I then stuck around and shot the gig from the side of the stage - I've never been so hot or sweated so much as Imelda can't use air-con as it messes with her voice!

Imelda May at Birmingham Town Town

Imelda recently played the Birmingham Town Hall and asked if I would like to come along to photograph the gig. Imelda and her band are amazing on stage and all work incredibly hard. As a result they're one of my favourite bands to photograph.

The Candy Box Burlesque!

One of my all time favourite jobs is photographing one of the best burlesque clubs in the UK - The Candy Box Burlesque at the Glee Club in Birmingham!

This show was called 'Hokum All Ye Faithful' and was held on 13th December. With a fantastic line of SATAN'S ANGEL (!!), VICKY BUTTERFLY, MARISA CARNESKY, DIVA HOLLYWOOD, MYSTI VINE, MARKEE DE SAW, PETE WILLIAMS and of course the resident vocalist IMELDA MAY accompanied by World Famous Palookaville! Burlesque Orchestra , this show was the best yet!

Pinups & Perfect Dresses!

Last Saturday I travelled down to London to shoot with the Vivien of Holloway pinup competition winner, Rebecca. We shot lots of new dresses in fantastic prints, including the new Valentines dresses which will be revealed soon. Rebecca handled all the chaos of the shoot like a pro and we produced some great shots!

We also roped one of the shop assistants, Sabrina, into modeling for us and she completely rocked out this amazing new leopard print sarong dress along with other great outfits.

Trojans!

I had the pleasure of collaborating with costume designer Catherine Colbourne and model Missy Malone on this fantastic shoot.

The starting point for this was the amazing Trojan reproduction helmet that I spotted at Missy's apartment which sparked all of our imaginations!

Sherry Trifle

This is the result of a shoot with burlesque performer Sherry Trifle. We had great fun shooting this one dark winter evening, even if it did involve a few pieces of taxidermy! These are to promote her Hitchcock inspired act.

These really took me back to the kind of work I did on my degree about the gaze, I'll maybe put a post up about those later...!
